Mrs. Jamiu Sikirat, 57, was found dead after falling into a well while getting water in Ilrin, the capital of Kwara State. The unfortunate event happened on Monday at 6:42 p.m

A resident of the Ile-Agunko compound in the Adeta neighborhood of the Ilorin West Local Government Area, the dead is said to have slipped and unintentionally fallen into the well.
However, the personnel of the Kwara State Fire Service found her dead.
The corpse was “handed over to a family member, Alfa Abdulganiyu Akuko,” according to the Public Relations Officer (PRO) of the service, Hassan Hakeem Adekunle, who spoke about the event.
“The corpse of the dead could be retrieved from the well by our firefighters after they swiftly reacted to the emergency call.
“The woman had gone to fetch water from the well when one of her legs slipped causing her to fall into the well,” he said.
Adekunle expressed his regret over the event and said that Prince Falade John Olumuyiwa, the service’s director, had encouraged the people to use caution in their everyday routines and to refrain from sending small children to gather water from wells.
