Incitement: DSS Takes Over Residence Of Kano Cleric Barred From Preaching

There is a heavy security presence around the residence of Sheik Abdujabbar Nasiru Kabara in Gwale of Gwale Local Government area of Kano metropolis.

Daily Trust reports that the Kano State Government early Thursday announced the banning of the popular Islamic cleric from preaching in the state for his mode of teachings considered too incendiary.

The state government also ordered that all seminaries run by the cleric be shut down pending investigation by security agencies.

They, however, did not stop followers and sympathisers from entering the house.

Hundreds of followers were seen around the house and mosque premises of the cleric sympathising over the State Government’s action.

Sheik Abduljabbar, a follower of Qadiriyya sect, is seen to be controversial by many scholars in the state.
